Canadian Intellectual Property Office

Focuses on trademark, patent, copyright, industrial design, and other intellectual property issues. Links are provided for the CIPO's Canadian Patent Database and for the Canadian Trade-marks Database.

Access Copyright: The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency

This site contains information pertaining to writers, publishers, and copyright licensing. Includes useful links to other sites dealing with copyright laws and issues.

Bereskin & Parr

Focuses on intellectual property law, both domestically and internationally. Specializes in the protection of inventions, trade marks, industrial designs, copyright and trade secrets. Publications include various articles dealing with topical Canadian intellectual property issues, including the effect of recent court decisions and legislative changes as well as summaries of intellectual property decisions issued in Canada by the federal or provincial courts, and by the Registrar of Trade-marks. The site also provides information on foreign intellectual property developments to assist Canadians in protecting their rights abroad.

Collection of National Copyright Laws (UNESCO)

The collection currently comprises about 100 national copyright and related rights legislation of UNESCO Member States.

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

Provides information about WIPO and intellectual property, the Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT), the Madrid System, the Hague System, the Standing Committee on Information Technologies (SCIT)/Permanent Committee on Industrial Property Information (PCIPI), the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, etc. Contains the text of treaties relating to copyright and the Internet as well as the status of ratifications of WIPO-administered treaties.
