Law Schools and Legal Research Sites

This page contains links to every law faculty in Canada as well as to selected major law schools throughout the world. Links are provided to the library catalogs of the Canadian and U.S. schools in order to assist locating materials that may then be requested through inter-library loan (service is only for U of T Faculty of Law). In addition, this page permits access to research centres that are associated with these schools and which provide some facilities for internet based research. The non-Canadian schools have been selected on the basis of the existence of a relationship between the particular school and the Uof T Faculty of Law, or due to their being the site of a valuable research source.

    Committed to improving health care through professional education and scholarly analysis of health law, ethics, and policy issues, the Health Law Institute is an interdisciplinary institute supported by and serving the Faculties of Medicine, Law, Health Professions, and Dentistry. Although the Institute does not publish its research on the Internet, this site does provide a good index of sites that will be of value to those doing research in this area.

  • Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre
    Dedicated to promoting awareness among Albertans about civil liberties and human rights, the Research Centre publishes reports on various civil liberty and human rights topics. This site gives abstracts on each of these reports together with information on ordering. The site also contains the full text of the Research Centre's Guide to Access to Information and Protection of Privacy.

    The CRDP (Centre for Research in Public Law) Web site aims at making Québec and Canadian law more accessible. Amongst legal documents of interest at this site are the Civil Code of Québec, the Québec Charter of Personal Rights and Freedoms, the decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada and the decisions of the Human Rights Tribunal of Quebec. In addition, a wealth of doctrinal writings may be accessed through the electronic version of the Revue Juridique Themis and Lex-Electronica , an electronic journal, as well as in the proceedings of various conferences the CRDP has organized on Internet law.
