Not a Box but a Window: Law Libraries and Legal Education in a Virtual World

How will legal education evolve over the coming decades? How will it be delivered? Will law be taught in the classroom or over the Web - "click" or "brick" to use the new buzz words? How will library functions and services evolve in order to enhance legal education?

Faculty of Law

Announcing a Conference to be held at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, February 22-24th, 2001

Sponsored by the Bora Laskin Law Library and The Carswell Institute

Conference Programme : Librarians and administrators are asking many hard questions about the future shape and content of legal education and law libraries. In the course of our forthcoming conference these questions, and some possible answers, will be drawn from as many alternative visions as we can explore in our attempts to peer ahead into a future sign-posted by "what ifs?" The starting point will be emerging models of legal education, but the major focus of discussion over two days will be on library responses to change.

Audience: This conference is intended for law school deans and administrators, law students, law publishers, and law librarians from all areas of the academic enterprise.

Registration Information and Form: Registration fee includes the full program, a cocktail reception on Thursday evening, continental breakfast and lunch on both Friday and Saturday and a banquet on Friday evening. Please see the registration form for additional details. Students may register at a special registration rate. See student registration form for details.
